Distance: 110 miles Withesville, VA to Dalesville, VA

Ride Time: 9:11

Average Speed: 13.5 mph

Maximum Speed: 35 mph

Altitude Gain: 7494 feet

Average Temperature: 87

I pumped up my tires as I left the parking lot this morning. About a mile into my ride, I noticed something strange about my front tire. As I stopped to inspect it, I noticed the bead had come loose and the tube was sticking out the side of the rim. I let the air out, reset the bead and filled up the tire with a CO2 cartridge.

I rode through Christiansburg, VA and changed to my last set of maps. Another fun milestone.

Another good looking horse ranch

I did a lot of climbing today but it didn’t seem to be near as steep as some other sections of road. My altitude gain added up to a big day of climbing.

I had a little problem finding our campground tonight. We stayed in a suburb of Roanburg. We drove a little further into town and got our laundry done. The campground was a combination trailer park and RV park and as I was connecting the surge protector, it showed that there was a power short in their system. I didn’t dare connect the trailer so we had a rather hot night.
