I rode through some beautiful country today. Kathie and I had planned on meeting in Buffalo. When I got there, there were five different streets that came into town and I couldn’t find Kathie. I couldn’t get any Wi-Fi or cell phone service. I rode about a half mile in what I thought were the main streets leading into town. I checked the church parking lot and the grocery store parking lot. I asked the grocery store to see if they had Wi-Fi and they didn’t. I asked at the Post Office if there was more of the town that went north and they said they were the edge of town. I went to the court house and they didn’t want to talk to me because I wasn’t wearing a mask. I got a mask from them and then they asked me all sorts of questions about my COVID-19 exposure. I asked if I could use their land line phone but they said I should be able to get cell phone coverage so I had to prove to them that I didn’t have any coverage. Finally they cleaned their phone and had me use hand cleaner. I called Kathie and found that she was in the school board office parking lot. I found that the school board office was out of town past the post office. After riding about two miles past the post office, I found Kathie. She had lost all her shade and was in a hot area and concerned about what was taking me so long to get to town. It was a relief to see her. I had a good lunch and we moved on.

Kathie ran into Dave. He was ahead of me again and had stayed overnight in McDaniels the same night we had. This turned out to be the last time we saw each other.

I rode on to Springfield.
