The lack of towns and lack of traffic made this a real lonely road.
This morning we got off to a slow start. As I crossed over the border into Utah, it was accomplishing just to know I had completed two states and had ridden the “Loneliest Road in America” as described in Life magazine decades ago. I found Garrison, UT to be the small town with no services as I was told. I also found valleys that were the ones pictured as the “Loneliest Road in Nevada” that were in Utah. Cattle were spooked as I rode by. This road seemed more deserted than what I had been riding in Nevada.
Kathie found us a free park to stay at in Milford complimentary of the Lion’s Club and had gone grocery shopping. We had pork chops for dinner. We later learned that there were many pig farms around the area. We went across the street to watch the baseball games they had going on there. There were three well-groomed diamonds and all of them were being used. It felt like small town Utah.
