Distance: 62 miles from Carson City, NV to Fallon, NV
Today my map sent me through a back way out of Carson City. It worked out well, but had me concerned a little. I missed meeting Kathie for lunch but had cell phone coverage and we planned another location. We met at a reservoir and I think it was the only lake between those two locations.
Because of the short distance between these towns, we pulled in earlier than normal. We had just got the trailer hooked up when we started to hear the sirens. There had been an accident at an intersection we had just come through. It was bad enough that a helicopter came for life flight. The ambulances, fire trucks and tow vehicles were there for a long time and the traffic didn’t clear for about 3 hours. Kathie kept saying she was so grateful that we had both made it through (barely) and that I was with her before it happened, otherwise, she would have been very worried.
Fallon has an Air Force base and when we talked to the people staying in the same campground, they were all contractors at the base.
